Retail recruitment starts with the CV
The first step towards getting a great retail job is submitting your CV to us. Once we have your CV, our specialist recruitment team will begin an initial search for suitable opportunities across our client base. As soon as we find some suitable jobs, we will get in touch. A consultant will discuss the retail vacancies with you, and begin the process of getting to know you; it's important that we establish an understanding of where you are in your career and crucially, where you want to be.
When everyone's happy that we have found a match, we will put you through a competency based interview designed to discover how closely related your core competencies and culture fit are to the client's requirements. Not only is this a great exercise in terms of practice and preparation for your job interview, it also helps to focus the mind, ensuring that you are in the right mindset to perform at your very best when you reach the interview stage.
Finding the right retail vacancies for you
If there's one thing we are, it's honest – if at any point we feel that a position is not right for you, or that you're not right for the particular retail job, we will let you know. We will also make sure that we back this up with constructive and meaningful feedback. Similarly, should you decide that you don't want to progress with a specific vacancy, all we ask is that you are honest with us and let us know as soon as possible.
Once we've found a fantastic retail job that matches your skill set, we will submit your CV to our client (with your approval) for consideration. As soon as we hear from them, we'll get in touch whether the news is good or bad. If your application is being progressed, our retail recruitment specialists will provide you with excellent interview training. If your application hasn’t been shortlisted we'll offer constructive feedback to ensure your next application is a success.
Retail recruitment – the interview
When our client agrees that you are a good match for their opportunity, the interview process begins. Each of our clients work differently; some run assessment days which typically last for a half day or full day. Retail recruitment assessment days typically include a series of different exercises designed to to assess your competencies against the clients specific requirements. In contrast, some clients prefer to interview in the more traditional way. Whatever the interview process, you can rely on us to coach and support you throughout.
After the interview
After the interview process has been concluded, it's decision time. Hopefully you will have been successful in securing a job offer but sometimes we have to go back to the drawing board. Irrespective of the outcome, there are always positives to be taken from any situation, after all every employer has specific requirements and feedback is always constructive.
